Duroblade-Energy is the result of long and selective research in the field of blade paper and board coating. The material is based on chromium oxide ceramics, mainly known for ultrahigh wear-resistance.
Duroblade-Energy allows you to maintain excellent lifetimes, even with the most abrasive pigments in the market and with the highest solids content. The ultrahigh wear-resistance allows you to keep stable coatweight control both in the cross direction and in the machine direction. Moreover, for improved runnability, the design of the geometry can be adjusted in order to reduce pressure on the blade.
In the Fine paper segment, DB-Energy achieves good results in applications where there is a problem of dry friction with cermet blades. In the LWC Rotogravure and Offset segment the blade obtains overall excellent results. Compared to steel and hardenend steel blades, Duroblade-Energy is able to boost paper surface properties (Heliotest, Gloss & PPS) with a minimum of 3 - 6 times longer lifetimes than regular metallic blade. Hence, substantial savings can be made on raw materials.
